Everything's Good

Copyright  Bod  2014

Something happened that is hard to explain

When I first found you

It felt as if a fuse had blown in my brain

I became confused

I couldn’t eat or sleep and I didn’t care

Everything was new

You came along and answered all of my prayers

When I first found you

You gave me hope and strength and now I believe

Every word is true

You said there isn’t anything in this world

That I cannot do

You opened up my eyes to so many things

That I never knew

My life has turned around and everything’s good

Now that I found you

There’s an image of myself that I can see when I look in your

       eyes

My reflection hasn’t ever looked this good and you’re the

       reason why

I’ve never been as sure about anything

As my love for you

My life has turned around and everything’s good

Now that I found you

There’s an image of myself that I can see when I look in your

       eyes

My reflection hasn’t ever looked this good and you’re the

       reason why

I think about you more and more every day

I’m so into you

I’m a fanatic is what you might say

When it comes to you

I took a leap of faith and I gave my heart

And my soul to you

My life has turned around and everything’s good

Now that I found you

My life has turned around and everything’s good

Now that I found you

Everything’s good

Now that I found you

Said The Night

Copyright  Bod and Alpert  1979

Tell her she’s yours – you’d better let her know

Slowly, slowly said the night

If you want her to stay – you’d better tell her so

The timing has to be right

And then, it’s gone again

Said the night, if not now when

Dishes and cartons lie around the room

Basking, basking in the light

Without her the place you loved will be a tomb

Every memory in sight

Will croon her favorite tune

Said the night, if not her whom

Questions in the daytime are not so hard to field

They talk of things like truth and God above

But when the heavens darken and a full moon shines

No one asks of anything but love.

You know where she’s gone  - and who she went with, too

Somewhere, somewhere out of sight

Running away is what you thought she’d do

No one said it was right or fair – to leave you there

Said the night, if not here where

Questions in the daytime are not so hard to field

They talk of things like truth and God above

But when the heavens darken and a full moon shines

No one asks of anything but love.

So, tell her she’s yours – you’d better let her know

Slowly, slowly said the night

If you want her to stay – you’d better tell her so

The timing has to be right

And then, it’s gone again

Said the night, if not now when

Where Will Love Come From

Copyright  Bod and Alpert  1979

I got lost in the shuffling madness

Wondering where to go

Lost and all alone

And there I was overcome with sadness

Wondering ‘till I’m numb

Where will love come from

Every night while I am sleeping

The chances are that you’ll come creeping

And for a while I’ll be with you again

The nights go by my hopes are fading

Is there any point in waiting

Still I know I’ll dream of you again

Where will love come from

Where will love come from

Will I find love today

Is it even heading my way

Two are better than one

Where will love come from

Every night while I am sleeping

The chances are that you’ll come creeping

And for a while I’ll be with you again

Can’t you see that I’m so lonely

And you know I want you only

Still I know I’ll dream of you again

Where will love come from

Where will love come from

Will I find love today

Is it even heading my way

Two are better than one

Where will love come from

Where will love come from

Where will love come from

Will I find love today

Is it even heading my way

Two are better than one

Where will love come from

The Wasted Blues

Copyright Bod and Alpert  2011

Time is eternal – it has no end

Love has no boundaries – it’s a feeling that hard to comprehend

And the truth is absolute – it cannot bend

Those are the rules

I gave you my time – but time ran out for me

I gave you my love – but you couldn’t understand me

And I told you the truth – but all you ever did was lie to me

I couldn’t feel more like a fool

I wasted my love, I wasted my time

I wasted my money  - and the truth is it’s a crime

I wasted everything on you

I wasted my time, I wasted my love

I wasted my money  - and the truth is all I ever think of

Is that I wasted everything on you

Money comes – and money goes

Faith is blind – God only knows

They say you reap – you reap what you sow

You get what you deserve

I gave you my money – but it was worthless, obviously

I put my faith in you – but you didn’t believe in me

Nothing turned out the way I thought it would be

Life can always throws you a curve

I wasted my love, I wasted my time

I wasted my money  - and the truth is it’s a crime

I wasted everything on you

I wasted my time, I wasted my love

I wasted my money  - and the truth is all I ever think of

Is that I wasted everything on you
